Investing in women and girls is one of the fastest and best means
of advancing human development for all. To ensure that UNDP is
doing its part, a Global Gender Equality Retreat was organized in
Rwanda, Kigali 21 - 25 April 2008. UNDP staff from all over the
world took stock of progress in supporting developing countries to
achieve the MDG on gender equality for future programme planning.
Focus was on the implementation of the UNDP's new Gender
